DESCRIPTION:The Choral Society of Durham presents Martín Palmeri’s Misatango and other selections with the Lorena Guillén Tango Ensemble and the Riverside High School Rapids! A string quintet from Mallarme Music will join in the festivities. \nIn addition to Palmeri’s Misatango (Tango Mass)\, the choirs will perform other delightful selections in the style of the tango. We will be joined by bandoneon\, tango ensemble\, strings\, and tango soloist Lorena Guillén. After the concert\, we will offer the audience the opportunity to learn a few tango steps!

DESCRIPTION:The Choral Society of Durham\, led by Rodney Wynkoop\, will be joined by Mallarme HIP artists in the presentation of J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass a work intended to summarize and showcase all the compositional technique and expressivity that this great composer had amassed during his life. Each movement has its own style and stamp of creative ingenuity. Performing it is often described as a lifetime experience\, and hearing it from the audience can feel equally transcendent.
