Watch Cissokho and highly attuned percussionist Austin McCall interweave melody\, rhythm and 2000 years of history. DESCRIPTION:What’s in a Song? Join singer/songwriter/cellist Shana Tucker and pianist Amy Bormet in learning the ins and outs of writing a song. \nTake a journey into the wide-open world of songwriting. This concert will delve into the songwriting process\, including: Establishing a Groove (tempo\, rhythm)\, Song Elements (melody\, chorus\, bridge\, etc.) and Storytelling Through Song (adding melody to words and vice-versa). \nShana Tucker is a cellist and singer-songwriter who performs all over the US. After a 5-year stint as a Cirque de Soleil performer in the show KA\, she is back home in NC! Her style of “ChamberSoul” music is a pastiche of acoustic\, jazz-influenced pop\, and soulful\, contemporary folk.shanatucker.com This concert is presented as a duo with pianist/vocalist/composer Amy Bormet.” \nAs an advocate for women in music\, Amy K.
