This year’s cantata series\, “Bach &\,” features cantatas\, concerti\, and organ works by Bach and his contemporaries\, illuminating the connections and differences between these Baroque masters. \nThis concert contrasts the music of Bach and Vivaldi. A lot of Vivaldi’s music was written for young players\, which is recognized in this performance by having Duke students play the solo violin parts. They will perform on the music department’s historic period instruments\, tuned to Baroque-era pitch. \nLearn more about the music in this concert at a pre-concert lecture by Duke Chapel Organist Chad Fothergill at 4:00 p.m. in the Divinity School’s Goodson Chapel. \nFamilies with young children\, or those not able to attend the concert\, are welcome to visit the rehearsal in Duke Chapel on Saturday\, November 8\, between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m.
